Comments:This book reminded me of the days when I sat with my grandmother telling stories about her yyounger days that made you feel like you were there with her. It also emphasizes the innocence of a child and the fact that their minds are so open to all possibilities. A trait we tend to lose as we age. Beautifully written!

Comments:Chuck, Thank you so much for coming to school yesterday to talk to our students. They all really enjoyed hearing storie and getting to meet you and Savannah. I think you really perked an interest in many of them to explore their options in writing. Thank you so much for that. After reading "Angels at Rickwood", I am eager to learn more about teh 1955 and 1956 Barons when my dad, George Prigge, played for them. He loved playing at Rickwood and the book definitely illustrates why. You most certainly knocked one out of the park with this one! Thanks so much!

Comments:Chuck, you have written a wonderful book! There were times I found myself laughing out loud and at other times wiping away the tears. You did a remarkable job in telling a story about the love of family and baseball, while giving us knowledge about a great piece of history sitting in our own backyard. Thank you for sharing your angels with us!

Comments:After reading "Angels at Rickwood" I realized there is more to Chuck Stewart than Barons memoribilia and old gloves. Chuck took his love of baseball and family and spun it into a delightful story that encorporated everything good about our great game. He especially touched a soft spot for me in the special father/daughter relationship. We may love the history of baseball, but Chuck has shown us there is more to baseball than statistics and records. It can be the glue that bonds family and friends for generations.

Comments:As we approach the 100th anniversary of Rickwood Field, America’s oldest ballpark, longtime collector Chuck Stewart kicks off the celebrations with an enchanting children’s story about the 1931 Birmingham Barons and the legendary Dixie Series between the Barons and the Houston Buffaloes, called by some the greatest games ever played. (The Barons took the series.) The story of Annie and Kat is not just for children, though, and I recommend it for parents, too – especially parents who read with their children. Comments:Chuck, Thank you so much for the sweet opportunity to remember some fond memories of Rickwood, to be taken back to innocence and to be reminded about those who ARE around us, guiding us, protecting us. I can hardly wait for the continued story and the suprises to come in the future. Thank you, and thanks to your wonderful family, too.

Comments:I read this book to my 8 and 5 year old sons. My 8 year old and I really enjoyed it. My 5 year old son loved the first and last chapters when Corny was a major character; he kind of got lost in the middle but it was above his maturity level. Being from the Birmingham area and having seen the Barons play at Rickwood prior to them moving to Hoover, it had special meaning for me. My sons have only seen them play at Hoover, but weather and work permitting we may catch the classic next year... Great job!

Comments:This book was so descriptive that I felt while reading it that I was actually watching a movie. The ending was really good, a "very" good twist. This book brought back alot of memories for me about playing baseball as a young boy. When I played ball, our fields were rocks and dirt just like in this book, not like "today's" ball fields that are "manicured". I am 40 years old and this book, intertwining a story and the history of Rickwood Field, brought back so many memories for me. This book is set in 1931, back when going to a baseball game was an EVENT. Today, we have so many other options for entertainment. Back then, we did not and going to Rickwood in 1931 was like going to an concert, etc. It was a really big deal. Today, most folks only attend baseball games if they are "given tickets" since there are som many more options for family entertainment now. This book is such and easy fast read....I read this at work...once I started....I could not stop...you just have to

Comments:Chuck, I thoroughly enjoyed your book "Angels at Rickwood". You are a very talented writer. Throughout the book I felt as though I was watching a movie rather than reading a book. I can not wait for you to write a sequal to this.
