Over the past two years I have enjoyed writing for the Opelika-Auburn newspaper. It has been fun and it has been a great learning opportunity for me. I hope that I can one day be an author or a newspaper writer. I guess you can say I got my writing skills from my dad. He recently wrote a book called “Angels at Rickwood.” It has just recently been published and he is having his very first book signing on December 12th at 11am at Hastings Book Store in Auburn. My dad wrote this book especially for me for my thirteenth birthday. It makes me very proud of him for all the work and love he put into this book.
The book is about baseball and the historical Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Alabama. It is also about a girl named Annie and her experience with angels at a baseball game at Rickwood. “Angels at Rickwood” is set in the year of 1992 and is about when Annie visits an elderly woman who tells her old stories from the year of 1931. This story is an amazing tale. If you love any kind of sports, children and the mysteries of life I think that you will really enjoy this book. I hope to see you at the book signing!

Editor's Notes: The following book review was submitted to us by 12 year old Ashley Morris of Gardendale.
Over the last few months, I've enjoyed reading books about romance. Then I read "Angels at Rickwood", written by my "Uncle by Choice", Chuck Stewart.
I was amazed at the story because it was based around the present day as well as 1931.
This story is about a young girl named Annie who plays baseball with boys. She learns to be confident in her abilities as a player and not be bullied by boys.
I could read it again and again like I do my other books. I am so glad he wrote this book because now I am into all kinds of books.
My "Uncle Chuck" will be in town for a book signing. I hope you can come.
Chuck Stewart will be signing copies of "Angels at Rickwood" today at The Little Professor book store in Homewood from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
